All of the flavors sounded amazing, but I opted to use Garlic & Herb to create an original recipe to share with you today. When I’m trying to get in and out of the kitchen quickly, shrimp is my go-to ingredient. It cooks in a snap, and it tastes great. The recipe I’m sharing today is Tomato-Basil Shrimp with Orzo and Feta. While you cook up some orzo pasta, you have a pocket of time to sauté shrimp in the flavorful Sauté Express® Sauté Starter Garlic & Herb. After the shrimp are sautéed, tomato and basil are added. Then, everything is tossed with the orzo and bite-size cubes of tangy-salty feta. In less than 30 minutes, you’ve got a meal that looks and tastes like you’ve spent way more time in the kitchen…but that can be our little secret!
Tomato-Basil Shrimp with Orzo and Feta
Step 1: Add 3 cubes of Garlic & Herb Land O Lakes ® Sauté Express® Sauté Starter to a non-stick pan with high sides. Cook over medium heat until it begins to bubble and sizzle. Then, add 1 pound large shrimp and sauté until they are cooked through and pink, about 4-5 minutes. Lower heat to med-low and add 2 diced and seeded Roma tomato and 4-5 basil leaves cut in a chiffonade -- stack the leaves, roll tightly, and then cut across with a sharp knife for instant basil confetti. Give it a quick toss to combine.
Step 2: Add 4-5 cups cooked orzo pasta (about 8 ounces uncooked) and ½ cup cubed feta cheese. Toss to evenly combine the orzo and feta with the shrimp and sauce. Place the pasta into a pretty serving bowl, and get ready for the compliments you’re about to receive!
That’s IT, folks! All this dish requires is a few minutes in the kitchen with some quick-cook ingredients…and Sauté Express® Sauté Starter. My kitchen smelled amazing, and the dish came out perfectly seasoned in less then 30 minutes. To save time, I purchased peeled shrimp. The most time-consuming part of this recipe was dicing the tomatoes, and that took all of 5 minutes. The garlic flavor was fabulous, but not overwhelming…and it complimented the tomatoes, basil, and feta perfectly. I didn't have to add any additional seasonings to this dish, because it was perfectly flavored! I can see myself using Sauté Express® Sauté Starter in my kitchen all the time: it tastes fantastic, and it saved me a ton of time in my dinner prep. That, my friends, is what you call a win-win scenario!!

ReplyDeleteYou really don't have to add any other seasoning...the Saute Express has everything you need to flavor the dish!

DeleteThis looks fantastic, Wendy. The peppery basil with the salty feta against the shrimp and herbs...WANT!
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice combo...I wanted to use an herbed feta, but couldn't find it at the first two stores I went to. So...I improvised and went with cubed plain feta.
DeleteMy husband would love this dish, I will have to put it on the menu.
ReplyDeleteIt is SO FAST and really, really delish!
DeleteMmmmm! The Garlic & Herb sounds like it would make several dishes quicker & easier. We don't eat meat (including seafood) so I would use it with tofu in several dishes that I make regularly. We love garlic around here, so this would come in VERY handy!
ReplyDeleteYou could easily convert this recipe to veg by adding in some zucchini chunks in place of the shrimp...or maybe some chickpeas!
DeleteOooo! Good idea. We love zucchini & chickpeas...I bet zucchini & tofu would really taste great with the Saute Express. Sigh...now I'm hungry! LOL
DeleteOh yum! Loving all your ingredients in this dish. Looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite tasty...and I love that this Saute Express includes all seasonings and spices!
DeleteMmmm - I don't think you can go wrong with this meal! YUM!
ReplyDeleteIt was very popular with my husband, which is always a plus!
DeleteThis looks delicious! And about macarons in New York, I have blogged about that several times (please check out my blog if you are interested)! I highly recommend Laduree. The packaging! Oh! It's gorgeous! You must visit.
ReplyDeleteI will stop by and check that out...and I'll add Laudree to my must-visit list for our upcoming trip!

ReplyDeleteMe too...it cook SO QUICK!
DeleteI don't like Shrimp but this would be a great dish for my hubby!! Plus I love the seasoning and orzo so I could simply pick out the Shrimp!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou could also sub in pieces of diced chicken tender in place of the shrimp...I'm sure it would be great!
DeleteOrzo, feta, shrimp, love, love, love!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the Garlic and Herb. I would speed up my Chicken Scampi because I would be adding the butter and herb flavoring at the same time!
