Giveaway: The 5-Ingredient Dutch Oven Cookbook...Featuring Smoky and Sweet Baked Beans with Bacon #giveaway #dutchoven #fiveingredients #summerpotlucks

I'm so excited to share a fabulous new cookbook with you today:The 5-Ingredient Dutch Oven Cookbook! This versatile cookbook is authored by my sweet friend Lisa Grant from Jersey Girl Cooks. Her second cookbook features 101 simple and tasty five-ingredient recipes for recipes like Teriyaki-Glazed Salmon, Cinnamon French Toast Casserole, Barbecue Beef Brisket, and more. I love that every recipe in this cookbook features only five tasty ingredients...and they're made in a Dutch oven for one-pot simplicity. Whether you want to make breakfast, main dishes, or dessert...Lisa has you covered. For our family Easter lunch last weekend, I made her Smoky Sweet Baked Beans with Bacon. The dish was quick to assemble, was easy to transport, and everyone raved about its flavor. As an added bonus, it's a very economical dish too!

Smoky and Sweet Baked Beans with Bacon
from The 5-Ingredient Dutch Oven Cookbook
Ingredients:
  • 6 ounces bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 15-ounce cans white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350. In a Dutch oven on the stove top, combine the bacon and onion. Cook over medium heat until the bacon starts to crisp and the onion is translucent, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes
Step 2: Add the beans, barbecue sauce, and brown sugar. Mix well with a wooden spoon.
Step 3: Cover the pot and put it in the oven. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for another 10 minutes. If the beans get too thick, add a little water to thin out the sauce when you remove the lid.

Step 4: Allow the beans to cool for at least 10 minutes, and season with black pepper before serving. As you can see, these beans are a perfect addition to a potluck or cookout!
Lisa's baked beans recipe is delicious! There's a bit of sweetness and spice from the BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, and brown sugar...as well as a smoky depth of flavor from the addition of bacon. This is a perfect recipe to have in your culinary bag of tricks with Summer entertainment coming! To celebrate The 5-Ingredient Dutch Oven Cookbook, I’m giving away a copy of Lisa's cookbook to one lucky reader! To enter, follow the instructions in the Rafflecopter below.
