Simply walk up to each BBQ joint's booth, wait your turn in line...then watch them carve smoky meat fresh from their smoker for you to sample. Talk about mouthwatering...and the smoky smell is downright heavenly!

This will be The Weekend Gourmet's SIXTH time to attend and cover the TMBBQ Fest! We always have a great time chatting with the pitmasters and sampling their smoky specialties -- including brisket, ribs, sausage, pulled pork, and more. There are also some amazing sweet treats available from select BBQ joints -- we loved the scratch-made Italian Cream Cake from Truth BBQ last year! The TMBBQ Fest is an ideal way for us to taste menu items from some of our long-time favorite BBQ joints...along with a few new-to-us discoveries each year! This year, the best BBQ joints from every region of Texas are taking part in the event. Every participating BBQ joint has a dedicated booth where hungry BBQ lovers line up to sample their offerings. There are traditional meats like brisket and ribs...along with some fun surprises like lamb chops and homemade scratch desserts too! As these pictures and video from last year’s TMBBQ Fest show, we had a great time sampling some of the very best BBQ in Texas!
In addition to fabulous Texas BBQ as far as the eye can see at the Long Center, TMBBQ Fest attendees can also purchase soft drinks, beer, and cocktails to wash it all down. There’s also plenty of live music to enjoy – the event takes place in Austin, after all! Bottom line: the Texas Monthly BBQ Fest is a fun afternoon where BBQ lovers of all ages can mingle and sample as much smoky Texas BBQ as they can eat...in a beautiful location near picturesque Lady Bird Lake. Keep in mind that the TMBBQ Fest is a very popular event, and tickets typically sell out well before the day of the Fest. If you're interested in attending this year's festivities, I highly recommend that you purchase your tickets online as soon as possible. Don't wait to purchase tickets at the door! Doing so risks that you'll smell all the smoky goodness...but won't be able to come inside for a taste. That would be very unfortunate, indeed!

The Weekend Gourmet will be posting lots of mouthwatering live social shares the day of the 2019 TMBBQ Fest – including video -- via Facebook and Instagram! If you’re not already following us on social media, what are you waiting for? Follow all of our culinary adventures via Instagram (WEEKENDGOURMET) and Twitter (@TheWeekendGourm). There's one more detail you need to be aware of: Daylight Savings Time begins the weekend of the event...so BE SURE to set your clock back 1 hour when you go to sleep on Saturday, November 2nd. Doing so will ensure you arrive at the TMBBQ Fest at the correct time!
