How to Make Great Coffee at Home #coffee #brewathome #caffeinated #athomebarrista

Coffee is the beverage of choice for many people. Instead of picking up a cup of coffee or fancy coffee drink at a coffee shop...why not learn how to do it yourself at home! Today, The Weekend Gourmet's correspondent is sharing some great information to ensure you're able to make good coffee at home!

Most people don’t really make good coffee when they're preparing it in their own homes. People usually only have good coffee when they go somewhere else to have it -- a cafe or restaurant for example. However, having good coffee is a wonderful thing! If you're keen to improve the coffee you have at home, then there are many things you might want to focus on to make sure of that. In this post, we'll look closer at how you can make and enjoy great coffee in your home!
Good Beans

You can’t make good coffee without using good beans. Therefore, the first thing you're going to have to do is purchase sine good quality coffee beans. That should be fairly easy -- especially if you happen to live in a large city. Keep in mind that you may have to spend a while searching for the best coffee beans you can find. Once you find one that you love, stick with it. There's nothing better than having access to a coffee bean that you really enjoy.

Useful Equipment
You'll also need to have specific equipment on hand to successfully make good coffee at home. Depending on how serious you are about coffee making, there are several different kinds of equipment to consider. At one end of the scale, there are espresso machines; at the other end are simple percolators or cafetieres. Whatever kind of equipment speaks to you is what you should use. Of course, they're all going to make different kinds of coffee...so that's definitely something to consider.

Water Temperature
The best coffee makers know that you have to put a lot of effort into using the correct water temperature to make the best coffee possible. For example, you want to use fresh water that is freshly boiled rather than water that has been sitting in around for awhile. The main thing is that you should not use full boiling water. Instead, opt for slightly cooler-than-boiling water. To achieve this, stop the kettle just before it boils...or boil it and then wait 30 seconds before pouring. That's the ideal temperature for a perfect pot of coffee.

Milk
If you use milk in your coffee, then you need to be careful with it. The last thing you want is over-milky coffee that barely tastes of anything other than milk. You should also remember that you have other options -- most notably cream, which can be a delicious way to round off a coffee. As long as you're making your cup of coffee to your own taste, that's all that really matters.

If you follow the above tips, you should be making great coffee at home in no time at all.
