McDonald's South Central Texas Owners Association Delivers Food to San Antonio Haven for Hope Food Bank Workers #mcdonalds #doinggood #communitysupport

The COVID-19 pandemic has made the past couple of months uncertain at best for all of us! For starters, we're now sheltering in place at home, wearing masks when we venture outside, and having much less social interaction. It can be scary and stressful to watch the evening news...so how about some uplifting, positive news? Last week, McDonald's South Central Texas Owners Association members delivered hot meals to San Antonio's Haven for Hope Food Bank. This was done to show their support and appreciation to Haven for Hope's mission to help local homeless and residents who are in need of food. While the rest of us are sheltered at home, groups like Haven for Hope -- and the people who work there -- are on the front lines helping those facing economic hardships due to COVID-19.
McDonald's Owner Operators Maria Acosta, Celia Acosta, Luis Acosta, and Carlos Rodriguez delivered 300 hot McDonald's breakfasts -- including sausage biscuits -- to Haven of Hope last Wednesday morning. In addition to this specific outreach, McDonald’s has donated more than 3,400 meals, gift cards, and food deliveries to first responders, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and elderly residents throughout Central Texas. For example: a San Antonio Owner/Operator recently delivered 80 lunches, as well as 200 free-meal gift cards to the San Antonio Police Department. Outside of San Antonio, a McDonald’s colleague recently delivered hot meals to a food bank in Killeen.
Please note that McDonald’s locations are also providing a free meal to all first responders at participating restaurants. This effort is another way McDonald's is showing their appreciation to all front-line heroes during this pandemic. Ensuring the health and safety of their employers and their local communities is McDonald's highest priority as the nation quickly mobilizes to slow the spread of COVID-19. Their decisions are guided by expert local and national health authority guidance. McDonald's is complying with all local and state restaurant restrictions, where applicable. Have a craving for a Big Mac or Fillet o Fish? You're in luck! Currently in San Antonio, McDonald's locations are providing both drive-thru and order services like McDelivery, Uber Eats, and DoorDash.
