How to Enjoy the Cooking Process Even More #cooking #makeitathome #inthekitchen

Chances are that if you're visiting this page, you're interested in food...and cooking! One of my main goals is to foster a love of creating tasty Big-Flavor dishes at home. As The Weekend Gourmet correspondent shares today, there are several proactive actions you can take to help you enjoy the cooking process even more -- whether you're a novice OR a seasoned cook! One of the best things about cooking is that it’s an activity that can become more enjoyable over time. Many people begin their cooking journey and realize it can be fun...but that’s just the beginning! If you’ve just started your cooking hobby, then you should know it’s possible to make cooking extra enjoyable. This won’t just result in better dishes; it also increases the likelihood that you'll stick with your cooking passion long term. In this article, we’ll examine a few tested tips for pushing you love of cooking forward.

Clear the Space
It’s much more enjoyable to cook in a clean, spacious kitchen. You can make the best of it in a small space, but you’ll be grateful for the effort you make to improve your kitchen to maximize space. Doing so will give you more space to chop vegetables and make larger meals. To start, take a look at your kitchen: is it all that it could be? If not, then start with a few small changes. Even if your kitchen is small, it should be possible to create more space. For example: is there anything you're not using that can be stored away? Take the minimalist approach, and your kitchen will seem calmer and more suitable for preparing larger meals.

New Recipes
When we first begin cooking, we usually stick with a few simple recipes that get us used to spending time in the kitchen. That’s actually a great approach! However, if there’s one thing to know about cooking, it’s that we shouldn’t limit ourselves. Cooking can become boring if we don't stretch ourselves to try new recipes. If you’ve been stuck making the same five or six dishes on repeat, now's a great time to switch things up by trying something new. You’ll definitely find that you get a thrill from creating a new dish! As an added bonus, every new dish you try expands you knowledge of food and cooking.

Fresh Ingredients
If you’re going to take the time to prepare a meal, then you should ensure that it’s as high-quality as possible. Some people actually end up reducing the quality of their food for a super simple reason: they’re using low-quality ingredients. It doesn’t matter how well you prepare the food: if the ingredients aren’t fresh, then the meal won’t reach its full potential. There are two excellent options when it comes to bringing better ingredients into your life: you can visit a farmer’s market, or you can grow them yourself. Growing healthy food at home is easier than you might think, and can be fun too. When it comes to preparing your meal, you’ll have fresh ingredients that came directly from your yard.

Make It Fun
Finally, look at making the environment surrounding the cooking process fun. You won’t enjoy cooking nearly as much if you’re continually getting annoyed...or trying to speed things along. Slow down, pour yourself a glass of wine, play your favorite music, and get to work! If you set up the right environment, you’ll soon find that you love spending time in the kitchen...cooking up a storm.
