Spotlight on Sukrin Gold Sugar Alternative...Featuring Sugar Free Mint-Peach Tea Sipper #sukrin #sugarfree #peach #mint #tea #springsips

Sweet tea is as common in the South as in-season Spring peaches! However, I never drink beverages with sugar in them. S0? I challenged myself to create a refreshing sweet tea beverage with zero sugar...and plenty of peachy goodness! I used Sukrin Gold brown sugar alternative instead of traditional sugar to make a delicious mint simple syrup for this tea. Sukrin Gold has an amber color and a deep brown sugar flavor that works perfectly in this fruity tea. I love that this sugar alternative contains only a few simple ingredients:
erythritol and steviol glycosides, D-tagatose, glycerin, and malt extract. Each 1/2-cup serving of Sukrin Gold has huge flavor...but only 7 tiny calories and 1 gram of net carbohydrates!

My simple and delicious Sugar Free Mint-Peach Tea Sipper is sweetened with a quick homemade sugar free mint simple syrup made with Sukrin Gold...and a refreshing peach puree. Instead of ice, the tea is poured over frozen peach slices. This minty-peach tea is perfect for sipping all Spring long, but it would definitely make a fantastic addition to your Easter meal this weekend!
The end result was a family-friendly sweet tea beverage that everyone who tasted it raved about. It smells absolutely amazing...and tastes even better. Best of all, this tea can be made up to one day ahead and chilled in the fridge. Smells heavenly...tastes even better...and make ahead? That's a winning trifecta, friends! Wait until you see how simple it is to whip up a pitcher of this delicious sparkling fruit tea.

Sugar Free Mint-Peach Tea Sipper
a Weekend Gourmet Original
Ingredients (makes 4-6 servings):
  • 16-ounce package frozen peach slices
  • 8 ounces unsweetened peach-flavored sparkling water [NOTE: I used Peach bubly]
  • Six peach tea bags + 4 cups water [NOTE: I used Celestial Seasonings Country Peach Passion]
  • Additional sprigs of mint for garnish, if desired
For the sugar free mint simple syrup:
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup Sukrin Gold brown sugar alternative
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
Directions:
Step 1: Make the sugar free simple syrup. Add the Sukrin Gold, water, and mint leaves to a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the Sukrin Gold is completely dissolved and the water and the syrup comes to a simmer. Remove from the heat and let the mixture steep while you assemble the other tea components. This lets the mint fully release its oils.
Step 2: Add the water and tea bags to a large saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the tea is steeped and simmering. Remove from heat and let the tea cool to room temperature.
Step 3: Make the fresh peach puree. Add 1 cup of the frozen peaches and the peach sparkling water to a blender. Blend until the peaches are completely smooth.
Step 4: Pour the simple syrup -- including the mint leaves -- into a glass pitcher or carafe. Remove the tea bags from the tea and pour the tea into the carafe. Finally, pour the sparkling peach puree into the carafe. Stir to completely combine all of the ingredients. If not serving immediately, let the tea chill in the fridge. To serve, add a handful of frozen peach slices to each glass before pouring the minty-peach tea over.
This sweet tea sipper is so tasty that NO ONE will miss the sugar! It's fruity from the addition of the fresh peach puree, and you can taste the mint without it being overwhelming. The use of Sukrin Gold in the sugar free simple syrup was a great call -- because it provides a rich, earthy flavor that's similar to brown sugar. That caramel-like note was what really took this fruity tea over the top. I can't wait to whip up pitchers of this tea all Spring and Summer long -- I think it'll pair perfectly with grilled chicken and seafood! To purchase Sukrin Gold...and other Sukrin sugar-free sweeteners...check out their online store locator.
